NIGERIA – TECO Group has introduced a new dual-purpose screw press and digester designed to enhance palm oil processing efficiency for small-scale farmers.

The machine, which integrates fruit digestion and oil extraction into a single unit, is set to debut at the upcoming Agrofood & Plastprintpack Nigeria exhibition.

The latest development aims to address common challenges faced by palm fruit processors, particularly during peak harvesting periods when efficiency is crucial.

By combining multiple processing steps into one machine, TECO’s innovation is expected to help farmers maximize oil yield while reducing waste and operational costs.

According to Funmi Babatunde-Dada, Executive Director of TECO Group, the new machine aligns with the company’s long-standing commitment to supporting Nigeria’s agricultural sector.

“For 45 years, we have built semi-automated and fully automated palm oil processing plants across Nigeria. We are pleased to introduce this solution, which enables small-scale farmers to process palm fruit more efficiently, minimize losses, and scale their businesses.”

The dual-purpose screw press and digester is built to handle up to 500 kilograms of palm fruit per hour, a feature that is expected to improve productivity for small and medium-scale processors.

The machine’s compact motor is designed to prevent common processing issues, such as clogging, while enhancing the extraction process.

TECO Group, founded in 1980, has established itself as a provider of customized engineering solutions, delivering industrial equipment tailored to Nigeria and Africa’s needs.

With a focus on fostering economic growth through localized manufacturing, the company continues to introduce innovations that enhance agribusiness operations.

The Agrofood & Plastprintpack Nigeria exhibition will offer attendees an opportunity to view a live video demonstration of the new machine and engage with TECO’s engineering team.

The event is expected to attract stakeholders across the agricultural sector, providing a platform for discussions on advancing processing technology for improved productivity.
