DP World nears completion of US$80M Sokhna Logistics Park, boosting Egypt’s trade infrastructure

EGYPT – DP World’s state-of-the-art Sokhna Logistics Park, a US$80 million investment, is nearing completion, marking a key development in Egypt’s logistics sector.

With construction now 65% complete, the 300,000 square meter facility is on track to open in June 2025.

Designed to enhance Egypt’s logistics infrastructure, the park is expected to provide integrated supply chain solutions while improving operational efficiency and reducing logistics costs.

Strategic location to drive efficiency

Situated just 10 kilometers from Sokhna Port within the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE), the logistics park offers direct access to Greater Cairo’s key markets and major industrial zones.

Its strategic location is set to optimize cargo movements, reducing operational expenses and increasing supply chain efficiency for businesses across the region.

“We are pleased with the progress made so far and remain focused on completing the first phase within the next few months,” Ranjit Ray, Senior Vice President for Economic Zones in the Middle East and North Africa at DP World, stated.

“The facility will support a wide range of cargo across imports, exports, and transit, and will be integrated with DP World’s operations at Sokhna Port, offering a full range of multimodal supply chain services, including freight forwarding and logistics solutions.”

Comprehensive logistics services

The Sokhna Logistics Park is designed to cater to a variety of industries, including agriculture, pharmaceuticals, retail, automotive, and textiles.

It will feature bonded and non-bonded warehouses, office spaces, and open yards for cargo and container storage.

The facility will also provide logistics activities such as warehousing, freight forwarding, customs clearing, and value-added services including labeling, coding, sorting, packing, and inspection.

Incorporating DP World’s extensive global trade infrastructure network, the park aims to provide cost-effective supply chain solutions for both local and international businesses.

Its integration with Sokhna Port is expected to enhance connectivity between Egypt, the Middle East, Africa, and beyond.

The logistics park has already drawn interest from businesses in both local and international markets. Companies operating in Dubai’s Jebel Ali Free Zone are among those exploring expansion opportunities into Egypt through this facility.
