Dislog Group expands food portfolio with Venezia Ice & Bakery acquisition

MOROCCO – Dislog Group has moved to strengthen its presence in the food sector with the acquisition of Venezia Ice & Bakery, and the MCDF food manufacturing and preparation plant.

The transaction, carried out in partnership with the Bougrine family, reinforces Dislog Group’s position in the Moroccan agri-food industry while diversifying its brand portfolio.

Founded in 1999, Venezia Ice has grown into a prominent name in Morocco’s ice cream and pastry market.

With 45 retail and franchise locations nationwide, the company has built a reputation for its range of ice creams, sorbets, pastries, and artisanal bread.

Its founder, Sghir Bougrine, will remain actively involved during the transition period, overseeing operations to ensure business continuity.

Dislog Group’s expanding market presence

Since its establishment in 2005, Dislog Group has grown into one of Morocco’s leading fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) distributors, working with major global brands such as Nestlé, P&G, Mars, Kellogg’s, Beiersdorf, and British American Tobacco. The company’s reach extends to 72,000 retail outlets across the country.

Beyond distribution, Dislog Group has been expanding its manufacturing footprint. Recent moves include entering the pharmaceutical industry and plastic packaging production through its subsidiary, CMB Plastique.

The acquisition of Venezia Ice & Bakery aligns with this strategy, adding a well-established food brand to its growing industrial portfolio.

Strengthening the “economy of life” vision

Dislog Group’s expansion into the food industry is part of its broader vision to be a key player in the “economy of life” – a business strategy that integrates the production and distribution of essential goods in hygiene, health, and food sectors.

With more than 150 proprietary and partner brands under its umbrella, the group continues to enhance its role in daily consumer needs in Morocco and beyond.

CEO Moncef Belkhayat described the transaction as a strategic step toward optimizing structural efficiencies and reinforcing the group’s resilience in the market.

The deal is expected to create operational synergies, leveraging Dislog Group’s existing logistics and distribution network to further enhance Venezia Ice’s market reach.
